BLADE Short Film
‘Blade’ is a period piece set in Harlem during the war on drugs in black urban neighborhoods. It’s a commentary on how invasive natures tend to impose itself on black excellence throughout histories in time, especially today. (Black Wall Street, etc...)
Shot in Harlem, during its deindustrialization period, A black led talk show tries to stop Nixon before he signs a new expansion of the War on Drugs at all costs. Jumping from different perspectives, to reach the inevitable climax of an all out war.
Blade roams the night streets putting ‘marked’ people out of their misery. He’s the urban legend the Black Panthers work around, he isn’t one of them, he’s the weapon they quietly use.
The film will jump from past to present, opening with a prologue of a talk show, showing the first incident that started it all in the 60s.
